About David
SCIENCE-BACKED.
ATHLETE-FIRST.
David Lambropoulos is a triathlon and endurance coach with a background in sports chiropractic and strength and conditioning. His combination of qualifications and practical coaching experience gives him a unique ability to develop athletes who are not just fit, but durable.
He holds a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and a Master of Chiropractic from Macquarie University, alongside a Master of Exercise Science (Strength and Conditioning) from Edith Cowan University. He is also an ASCA Level 2 Strength and Conditioning Coach and a Triathlon Australia certified coach. Where most coaches understand training, David also understands the body. He knows how it adapts, where it breaks down, and how to keep it performing at its best over the long term.
As Head of Athlete Performance at SportsFit Health and Rehab, Head of Strength and Conditioning at Inner West Magpies AFL, and Strength and Conditioning Coach at St Andrews Cathedral School, David works daily with competitive athletes across a range of sports, managing performance, load and injury prevention at a high level.
His focus as a coach is simple: help athletes maximise what they are capable of with the time, resources and goals they actually have. He works with runners and triathletes at every level, from first-timers stepping up to a sprint triathlon through to experienced athletes chasing Ironman podiums and personal bests.
As an Ironman All World Athlete with multiple 70.3 and full Ironman finishes, David brings genuine personal experience to his coaching. He knows what it takes to train consistently, manage a full life around sport, and show up on race day prepared.

WHAT ATHLETES SAY
After 2 years of trying different physios and being told running might not be an option, David was the first to ask for my running stats, review my injury history and create a plan that helped me recover and made my goal possible. In October I finally ran my first half marathon, no further injuries, just one day of recovery, and I was back to my daily routine. His expertise as a chiropractor and running coach is unmatched. You'll be in the best hands with him.
David has been instrumental in my triathlon journey from the very beginning. When I first started working with him, I had never completed a triathlon. Since then, I've gone on to complete three full-distance Ironmans and am now chasing my first sub-10-hour Ironman this year.
I worked with David over about 6 months, covering initial rehab, return to run, and a performance programme to get me back to peak. He is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, he clearly lives and breathes what he does. He pushed me just enough while staying sensitive to my circumstances. I couldn't recommend him more.
I've been training with David for over a year. He is hands down the best coach and chiro I've been to. He is very knowledgeable and I'm satisfied with every session each week. Highly recommended.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Coaching plans start from $40 per week for single-discipline coaching, $50 per week for full triathlon endurance programming, and $70 per week for the Pro plan which includes integrated strength and conditioning. All plans are delivered online via Final Surge with no lock-in contracts. See the full plan breakdown above.
No experience is needed. David works with athletes at every level, from people completing their very first 5km run through to experienced athletes chasing Ironman podiums. The programme is built around where you are right now, not where you think you should be. If you are committed to the process, that is all that matters.
Your training plan is built and delivered through Final Surge, which you can access on your phone or computer. David reviews your sessions, monitors your load, and provides feedback regularly. You will have a weekly check-in to discuss how training is going, adjust the plan as needed, and address anything that has come up. The whole process is designed to fit around your schedule, not the other way around.
This is where David's background as a Sports Chiropractor makes a real difference. Rather than just pausing your training and hoping for the best, David can assess what is happening, modify your programme to keep you moving safely, and guide your return to full training. Injury management and prevention are built into every plan from day one, not treated as an afterthought.
For most athletes starting from a reasonable base of fitness, 16 to 24 weeks of structured training is a realistic preparation period for a first 70.3. If you are relatively new to triathlon or coming from a single sport background, allowing closer to 6 months gives you time to build your weakest discipline without rushing. The key is having a structured plan rather than just accumulating hours. A free consultation will help determine the right timeline for your specific situation.
A full Ironman requires a significantly longer preparation window. For athletes who have already completed an Olympic distance or 70.3, a 24 to 30 week build is typical. For athletes newer to triathlon, 12 months of structured training is a more realistic and safer approach. Rushing an Ironman build is one of the most common causes of DNS (did not start) and DNF (did not finish) on race day. Building the aerobic base and structural resilience to handle full Ironman training takes time and should not be shortcut.
Absolutely. One of the core principles of TriApex Coaching coaching is maximising what you are capable of with the time, resources and goals you actually have. Athletes with limited training time can still make significant progress with well-structured, purposeful sessions. Your plan will reflect your real weekly availability, not an idealised version of it.
